HOFSTRAS, N.J. — For the first time, the University of New Jersey has launched a scholarship program for the study abroad study abroad program at New York University.
The program will be available through New York’s School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), which will receive $1 million and serve as the exclusive partner in the program, according to a press release from the university on Friday.
The goal of the program is to help students graduate from their undergraduate education at New Jersey without spending more than one semester abroad.
The scholarship, which will be open to students who are currently enrolled in a program at the university, is available for first-year students as well as students who completed their bachelor’s degree in another degree program in the past five years.
In the release, the university said that the program will allow students to travel to New York to study abroad in five- to 10-month increments, beginning in the fall of 2019.
It will also be available for students who do not wish to travel more than five months, but who would like to spend a year abroad in the United States.
Students who would prefer to study in the U.S. will be able to apply to the program through the University’s Office of Overseas Student and Fellowships.
For students who want to do both at once, the program can also be expanded to include students who have already completed a degree program at other U.s. universities.
Students will be eligible to apply for the scholarship when they have completed their undergraduate studies at New Jersy, the release said.
Students will be allowed to apply until the end of the 2019-20 academic year.
The university said it is working closely with the program to ensure that the application process is streamlined and that students will have a fair and fair chance of success.
“We want our students to feel like they are getting an opportunity to go abroad, which is the same way we want our faculty, staff, and students to get opportunities to go to the United Kingdom,” SAIC President Dr. Michael Breslauer said in the release.
“The university has been a pioneer in bringing international students together and has made the process a breeze for them.
We look forward to helping our students realize their dream of studying abroad.”
