LITTLE ROCK, Ark.
(AP) With nearly three-quarters of the country’s college students studying abroad, the Obama administration announced Thursday that it’s increasing the number of studies abroad students who can earn an undergraduate degree.
Under the new rules, which go into effect March 1, undergraduates who are accepted to at least four U.S. universities can earn a bachelor’s degree or higher, and a master’s degree at any U.K. institution.
The Department of Education says it’s also increasing the maximum number of U. S. citizens studying abroad to 10,000 for undergraduate and graduate students.
It will be a challenge to get a job if you don’t have a degree.
You have to be an international student, the Department of Labor said in a news release.
We have a lot of students who don’t want to go into a job they can’t do because of their foreign background.
So we’re doing a lot more outreach, to be sure we get people in jobs, the release said.
We want them to be prepared.
If they can make it to that goal, then that’s the best place for them.
