On Wednesday, Rutgers University released its first report on study abroad in the U.S. and the results show that, at least for the foreseeable future, it’s all but impossible to go abroad without taking out a loan.
The report, titled “Study Abroad, the U, and the Future of Study Abroad,” is the latest in a series by the university’s Center for International Education that documents the challenges of international study abroad and offers advice on how to best go about it.
The center has been tracking the impact of foreign study abroad on the U’s economy for more than a decade, and its report shows that U.s. student debt has more than doubled in the last 10 years.
Rutgers has been a leader in the field of international studies.
Last year, the university surpassed its enrollment total for the first time.
And the institution’s online degree programs — including online Master of Arts degrees — have been in the news this year as a result of the ongoing FBI investigation into the leaking of Democratic National Committee emails, which have since led to the resignation of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
As of March 1, Rutgers had over 5.4 million students enrolled.
In 2020, it expects to have 1.8 million students.
“The rise of online programs, as well as the rise of the U and the future of international education, has changed how people think about studying abroad,” said Rachel McKeon, vice president of the center, in a press release.
“The growth of this industry has meant that there’s an incredible demand for this type of education.”
And the demand is only expected to continue.
For the next five years, the number of U. S. undergraduates with an interest in international studies will grow by about 400,000, according to the report.
For 2020, that number will be 1.3 million.
“There’s no question that this industry is a growing industry, and we’re excited to see it continue to grow,” McKeons said.
“This is a great opportunity to bring together academics, students, policymakers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to look at the future, and to share our knowledge with the next generation of international leaders,” she added.RUTgers has a variety of ways in which students can study abroad that vary depending on the academic programs offered.
Students can choose from online Master’s programs, online bachelor’s, or a combination of both.
The Center for Independent Studies also offers a Master of Science in International Studies.
There are other options, too.
The university offers the International Business Program, which offers a bachelor’s degree with a focus on business.
And there are also programs in the School of Business Administration, Business Administration Program, and Business Administration Transfer.
“Our students are excited about the opportunity to travel, and have the freedom to do so without having to worry about loans, debt, or international students being denied a degree,” said David Bader, vice provost for undergraduate and graduate studies, in the release.
